Disc Injuries
Up to 80% of adults over 40 have disc bulges. Most don't even know it.
Disc bulges and herniations are far more common than most people realize — some studies show up to 80% of adults over 40 have them in the neck or lower back. Many are completely asymptomatic and cause no problems at all. But when a disc does become symptomatic, it can create significant pain and disability.
Is the Disc Actually the Problem?
Before assuming a disc is the cause of your pain, we evaluate to find out. Not every back or neck issue is a disc issue, even when disc bulges show up on imaging — since they're so common even in pain-free people, identifying whether your disc is actually the source of your symptoms is the critical first step.
Non-Surgical, Non-Pharmacological Treatment
When a disc is the cause, we use conservative treatment to relieve pressure on the affected nerves and restore normal spinal function — without surgery or medication.
