Who We Help

Athletes

Two times to consider chiropractic care: after an injury — or before one.

When it comes to athletes, that's one of the biggest things we tell parents. It sounds backwards, but a huge number of injuries in athletics today come from imbalances, not contact. As sports have gotten more specialized over the decades, non-contact and overuse injuries have become far more common than they used to be.

Why Get Checked Before Something Happens

Getting checked isn't just about fixing what already hurts — it's about establishing a baseline. Is there something going on in the spine, pelvis, ankles, hips, knees, or shoulders that could turn into the injury that sidelines an athlete from the sport they love? Catching that early is often the difference between a minor adjustment and a season-ending setback.

And When an Injury Has Already Happened

We're just as equipped to handle it after the fact. That starts with figuring out exactly what happened and which tissue is actually the problem, then building a plan to fix it — and just as important, figuring out what needs to happen on an ongoing basis to prevent it (or the next injury) from happening again.

More Wear and Tear Means More Hands-On Work

Athletes typically put more strain on their bodies than the average patient, so treatment often includes more myofascial release and soft-tissue work than a typical visit. That extra hands-on time is by design — the goal is minimizing and mitigating the problems that added wear and tear can cause down the line.
